Hmmmmm.... Neat. I've never heard of BIKE blessing before.
(I do respect that others may dissgree with me oin this, and that's fine. They're entitled to.)
I am of the beleif that there is still no substitute for great care and skill of motorcycle riders (and cagers) to avoid injuries and accidents out on the road. No matter what, we have to be on our lookout for potential hazards.
I have been in the wrong place at the wrong time.... and this would not have made any difference whether the VEHICLE had been blessed or not. The fact is, I was riding with an inexperienced driver with very little skill, on an icy road, and there just happened to be an 18 wheeler coming when we entered into the trucks path.
I don't think God caused, nor prevented that fatal accident. But He must have allowed it. But I do beleive that "I was BLESSED" in the fact that I came out of that wreck in dying condition, and was able to survive and recover to experience life with my wife and two kids.
I think it's great that people are getting their bikes blessed, what a great idea!
I would encourage those of you to get YOURSELVES blessed while you are there. A motorcyclist needs all the help he can get in staying safe out there on those dangerous roads.
For the first time, I am really excited about this Easter. A friend of mine explained the real meaning of Easter to me. It is in celebration of the resurrection of Christ after physically dying on the cross. The Easter eggs are a symbol of a new beginning of life, the miracle of life. (Little chicks hatching from nothing but an egg yolk.)
There's still some snow, but the roads are dry.
I think I might just dig the Roadie out for the first time this year and go with my friend to a bike blessing if we can find one tomorrow. In celebration of a new year of riding.
Have a very blessed and safe Easter weekend to everyone on the RoadStarClinic!

I just got home from our Blessing of the bikes here in Chattanooga. Really it is not as much about blessing the motorcycle as it is asking for blessings on the motorycyclist. We had probably, (I heard) between 700 and 800 bikes here today. I was working the prayer line and didn't get much of a chance to keep up with who all came and went. But it seemed that everyone had a great time, free food and a lot of great bikes.

If you are interested in finding one near you ... you can go here and search for your state and location. Then check with that particular chapter. It don't have to be Easter, just find someone and ask. CMA Website

Ride safe ...
