Hey guys,

I wear a full face all the time. This thread made me laugh out loud!
Connecticut does not have a helmet law, but bordering Massachusetts does, and I have been known to venture that way.

I wear and 3/4 but am seriously considering a full. Drivers around here are blind, deaf and dumb. Its that or put a strobe light on the bike.

I been looking for a really nice helmet but haven't found a thing I've liked other than the 3/4 I currently own. Any suggestions? Oh, and wearing a helmet isn't a choice up here.

Speaking of helmets, at the Atl. international bike show, I bought a new half helmet. Its really cool, It's a carbon fiber polo style half helmet. Real carbon fiber. It also has one of the lowest profiles I've seen for a DOT approved helmet. Another really cool feature about it (that I got to test that evening , as I rode to Atl. with no windshield) is the manufacturer guarantee's no lift. It worked, I rode home, averaged 80, hit 90 a couple times for good measure, and the helmet just sat there like you would want it to. The manufacturer is a co. named HCI, if anyone cares, I payed 95 bucks at the show, they retail for 120(found them cheaper since first price was posted). It IS DOT approved. 2 cents,BB.

Post edited by: Big Bear, at: 2007/03/02 06:00

Depending on how cold it is out, I will wear a full face, then when its hot and warm out I will wear a skull cap/dew wrap.

I wear a Full face when it's cold out, and a half when its warmer. I have been known to not wear one at all, even crashed while not wearing one. I survived, no brain damage (that I know of ). When I get my windshield on, I will probably only wear the half, letting the GF wear the full.

Illinois is a rider choice state, as is nearby Wisconsin.

First, I have to point out that they're ALL black and that I own 6.

Brain Bucket Smokey 1/2 helmet most of the time with a white lettered DOT sticker camo'd by about 37 other stickers.

When I have saddlebags, I'll carry a DOT 1/2 and do own a 3/4 w/flip-up shield.

Also have Eagle Wings on a 1/2 Brain Bucket and the 3/4 just like what the pro football players wear to show my loyalty during the season. It's tough enough being an Eagles fan in Giants country, wearing those helmets is like having a bulls-eye on yer back. (And, before ya ask, a Brooklynite by marriage.)

Just bought a new helmet.. full face. Tried a lot of different brands/sizes but elected to get an HJC. Not the most expensive but definitely the most comfortable for me. Got a gold shield with it as well.
