That's Great news! Did he tell you what went wrong, how he lost it?

Very sorry to hear that Greysnake. I've laid a bike down a couple of times and have been very fortunate, so far, and I will certainly say a prayer for your friend.

Glad to hear that he's going to be okay. The foot will take a while to heal up, but small bones heal faster than big ones. What kind of damage was done to his bike? Is it fixable?

I'm glad he is doing well and they saved the foot! I sympathize with him. Tell him to join RSC they keep me entertained while I'm down

Went over to see Wiley today(Sunday) and he was really hurting which is understandable. He said that he had more injuries than first thought. The left hand pinky finger was broken cleanly and had a pin put in it. He also has five cracked ribs on his left side. He's going to have to have surgery on his left ankel again but he is still in good spirits and thanked everyone on here for their thuoghts and prayers.

Frank the bike faired better than Wiley. It broke off the left floorboard and bent the shifter. The left turn signal & driving light will have to be replaced and the front left corner of the front fender is gouged. We didn't start the bike after we got it up but the clutch worked fine and it rolled ok. Still don't know what actually caused it.

Thanks again everybody for your support.

Martin.

Never like to hear a rider is down. Unfortunatly we hear more and more of it as the season comes on and more riders join the ranks with new bikes. It seems there is one every day here in the news. A prayer is said for your friend and a fast recovery for him.

Hey Greysnake; Glad to hear your friend is on the mend and is in good spirits. Oh, the power of prayer! Had a scary event happen on our ride yesterday. We had 15 bikes coming down Hwy.32 from Chester when we encountered what we think was bad road work done by Cal-Trans. Coming into a banked left turn, Cal-Trans. had done a lot of road crack work with hot tar. This has left a lot of small ridges that makes the bike wobble as if the tires are not getting much traction on the pavement. Well one guy ahead of me looked like he had a flat tire the way the bike was wobbling . So I slowed down to see if he needed help and I started to wobble and lose control. Got the bike under control and slowing when I was clipped in the back and left side. She lost control of her bike and dumped it on the hwy. and proceeded to sumersault and cartwheel off her bike, while the bike slid off the road into the shoulder. She got right up and came over to check on me! I was fine except for losing my left rear turn signal and gouging a small hole in the saddlebag. Six inches closer and I might be recovering from something myself. She was able to ride her bike home after fixing the shifter. She scraped both fenders and broke out a passing lamp and her right rear signal that hit me. Sure am glad we pray before and during every ride. All 15 bikes said they had issues with that corner. We will be contacting Cal-Trans about their road repair job.
