Lost at the bike show to baggers! 2 Years, 9 Months ago

Yesterday we had a bike show and "spring fling' at the local Yamaha dealer put on by my Star Club. About a 100 bikes showed with 13 in the show. "WARNING: whining about to begin". 
I entered my bike and other than it and a Big Bear chopper it was bagger/dresser heaven. I got asked by some friends how they thought I would do and I said "are you kidding I am going to get killed....take a look" and I turned around and pointed to all the bikes in the parking lot. 95% with fairings and bags.
2 top finsihers were covered in airbrush art (one well done but it came in second). I guess my point is that more is not always better. One of the bikes (it won) had literally every square inch covered in something from a catalog, it was so overdone I couldn't believe the bike even ran. I know my minimalist approach is sure not for everyone thats for sure but why the fascination the other way?
OK, whining stops now. By the way even with the severe disadvantage I came close to placing!
Oh, I also got to meet Ultrastar. He has one bad ass paint job on that bike (pictures dont do it justice) and it was wonderful to meet someone from the clinic in person. He's a great guy and very knowledgable. |

Here you go, pictures I took prior to the show. Last picture is before the show began, before we even began to set up, first two bikes in place , mine and a Harley bagger! It's OK though he is in our club and I think he only entered to park his bike up front.
