Some of you guys must have very little garage space left or full fields out behind the homestead. The insurance on what I've got is enough for me. If it was legal to drive without the damn stuff I would be doing it. On the other hand, if I had the bucks I'd probably have 8-10 vehicles myself. Maybe a trike too...

I can vouch for Daywalker and his 318 Dakota, I had a 97 myself. It had a torque-ier feel then the Roadie, I think they came stock with 320 ft lb's of torque and something like 270 HP. Pulling away from stop lights you had to be light on the throttle or the back end would break loose. Unfortunately I got a lemon and it left me on the side of I-95 in DC traffic one too many times. Chrylser could have cared less. Every 8-10 years or so I give American auto makers another chance, every time they fail me. Tried a Ford pickup, when the dealer told me a quart of oil every 600 miles was normal usage I knew I'd been screwed again.

Now I have a 99 Pathfinder, I've gotten to the point where I consider my car/truck a tool and don't see the need to feed the auto makers by buying overpriced modes of transportation to get me from point A to point B. I have about 100K miles on her, I'll run her til the wheels fall off. Wife drives a 05 Camry, our last one had over 200K miles on her when we got the new one. Passed the old one on to her Mom and she's still running strong. Can't go wrong with Toyota's or Honda's.

Sadly I agree.

Got rid of my last Ford in 2004 and I have never looked back. I've owned two Honda sedans since 1990 and I've never had so little 'problems' in a car.

I don't understand why this occurs as most Japanese brands are made in North America. Quality control is better for the Japanese?

Some of the domestics have nice lines but I'm reluctant to 'try it out' for the price it costs. Plus most get poor mileage.
