Re:Mr. Stebel 3 Years ago
One bit of advice on the Stebel install... and I know most of us wouldn't do this, but... mount the relay with the terminals pointing DOWN. The PO of my Venture had installed a Stebel on it and it never sounded as loud as I expected it to. Saturday I was washing the bike and hit the horn button and all I heard was a mouse break wind. It was the stock horn; nothing from the Stebel. It seems the PO had mounted the relay upside down and it was full of water and totally corroded. $6 relay and a few minutes and all was good. FYI, don't test your horn by holding it a foot away facing you. It's painful.

Now a question... what size are the front downtubes on the Roadie? Anyone know?

If you are ordering a bracket, try calling the place and tell them that it's for a Yamaha Road Star. Chances are, they have a bracket for it already, or else they have the dimensions on-hand.

I was in bank drive through and did that and the guy in front of me nearly had a heart attack as well as me. Wonder if the paramedic's would have figured that one out.

I might have installed mine wrong, but I didn't hook a hose up to that port. Just left it empty. Been like that for a couple of years and still working fine.
