Re:HD 3 Years ago
I skimmed the other pages and I'll tell you one place that HD has all brands beat:

Customer activities. Period. Every HD dealership in Htown is doing something every weekend for riders. cookouts, open houses, rides, charity events, raffles, giveaways & bike nights. What are the "Jap" dealers doing??? nuthin. quiet as crickets.

I know you don't "need" the community to ride but it sure is fun to get together now and again, knock a few (whatevers) back and talk bike shop in person. Whenever someone is looking for a new bike or to "get into biking" for the first time, the "lifestyle & community" that you get w/ HD is a BIG selling point and carries more weight than the "Jap bikes" give it credit for.

Want what you ride and ride what you want. If you don't you will never be happy. It doesnt matter if others feel you got a great value or a bad one. Until that person offers to pay for your bike for you, their opinion does not matter to anyone but them. How many miles does it take to be a real biker... I have no idea. I guess the answer is how ever many any one individual wants to put in and be happy. Should your bike be clean or dirty. Again.. what ever makes you feel good. Ridng is about enjoyment. If it is 2 miles to a bar once a week and you love it. Then that is what you should do. If its 4000 miles in 10 days on vacation. More power to you! As long as your happy. Metric.. HD. What does it matter?

Posers and douchebags ride all brands. Not too long ago, I was at a large Jap (all makes) dealership. It was a warm, suuny day. Plenty of nice looking bikes of all brands came and went, and most of the riders had one thing in common; nice, shiny new leathers. Not one bug on any of 'em! I tell ya, the weekend badasses really crack me up.

There are a lot of motorcycle owners out there who just have no clue what it's all about.

Sorry, Sarge, what are you talking about? LOL, sorry couldn't resist

I have read every post here and man even though Musky said stop knocking the H.D.!!! People just keep doing it, even when they are trying to agree with musky. I don't believe some of the stories here. One guy said he bought a USED Road King and paid 23,000 Are you kidding me?? You can buy a new one for less! Just like with Yamaha or any other dealer out there you have to shop around. There are dealers out there for Harley-Davidson who will in fact sell you the bike at MSRP! One guy said the salesman told him he could not sit on a bike unless they did a credit check!Again are you kidding me? I have been to at least 12 different H.D. dealers in numerious states and I have sat down on the bikes in the show room floor over and over again and NEVER been told don't do that unless we check your credit first! Are you walking in the dealership looking like a transient? Another guy said he walked around in the dealership for 30 minutes and no one helped him so he walked out!
Well guess what I have had that happen at all kinds of places not just a harley dealership! That happened to me at the Yamaha dealer when I bought my R*. I sat on the bike and looked at others and finally had to go ask someone to help me.
I agreed with everything Musky said(for once LOL) and wish you guys here would stop with the bashing! I own 2 harleys and 1 R* I could not pass up the deal on my last harley 2005 Electra Glide Standard with 9,988 miles for $11,500. If you look long and hard you can find a deal on a harley. They are just as much fun to ride as the next bike.

Fix your sig pic. I love that R* of yours.
