Re:HD 3 Years ago
I didn't buy an HD because I did not want to be thought of the way that group is. It's nothing about he bike to me but the people who ride them, they act like if you don't have one your crap, This buy American stuff, If I wanted to buy American I would buy a Victory that's more American content than a Hardley. So it ticks me off when the HD people get on me for buying a RS. If they were to practice what the preach, they'd of bought a Victory.

I buy some parts at HD, they have come out with some very sharp bikes, a lot sharper than Victory, I'd consider one if I hit the lotto and they tossed in the 4X3 foot horseshoe magnet and 50 feet of rope to drag it back there where I could catch the parts. (Very kidding)

My RS has been 18000 miles of pure problems, I bought a new one so I would not have to work on it and that's all I have done. Now I kinda wished I would have bought a Harley. But then.... I'd be in that 'Group' naaaa.

Heck I saw a HD I would buy yesterday but I held back because I paid for my hotel in Lake Of the Ozarks and I would not be allowed to go!

this thread is boring me. Lets talk about the virtues of synthetic oil vs. dino. That's never been discussed before.

Re:HD 3 Years ago
I don't care what anyone rides. If ya wanna ride with me, leave the attitude at home. I am partial to HD but anyone can read my first post in this thread as to why I have a Roadie. Too many posers on HD's these days trying to act the stereotypical biker. If only they knew that real deal are nothing like that. In fact, the real deal looks upon anyone with an attitude with great displeasure because they go to great measures to rid themselves of that image, and then they find someone playing biker screwing up their hard work because the public does not distinguish between one rider to the next. Many have received a physical education on the subject. Don't get me wrong, there are many more real bikers riding HD's than there are the casual rider but they are not seen as often as the scary yuppabiker, and it is not by chance that it is that way. If anyone takes offense to this, you must be a scary yuppabiker....

Re:HD 3 Years ago
When I started riding motorcycles, Harley was owned by AMF and yes in my rural Oklahoma cattletown I remember seeing several broken down Harleys on side of the road and the brand became a joke.I also saw broken down late model Chevys,Fords and Dodges.
My father talked always with pride about how great the Indians and Harleys of the 30s and 40s were.

During the mid 70s Suzuki,Kawasaki and Yamaha dominated are market because of mostly reliability. By the 80s the Asian bikes still were on top and if you remember they started to beat the Hell out of are auto market.
In my opinion the Japs forced America to start building a quality motorcycle and car once again.
I got off the subject back there but Yes Harley builds some beautiful machines now and I agree the Roadie is a copy but I don't care....The Roadstar is an awesome bike and money was not a factor when I started looking. One of the previous posts stated that the Roadie different and that is another reason among many for my choice.
My girlfriend used to be ashamed when we go to a Harley dominated function on my Yamaha until she realized a snob is a snob whether it is about
Lexus, RangeRover or King Ranch Ford Dually or Nike tennis shoes.

I hope I always can ride, no matter what the brand.

Re:HD 3 Years ago
I have had a lot of bikes and I even had a HD but my wife didn't like it. And the one I had problems my be I got one that was make on Friday or Monday seem I was always working on it. But I like it because it was a Fatboy like me I am 6'1 230lbs no small peerson by no means. I had a chance to buy the Roadstar Silverado and road it and loved it. And I guess it goes look kind of like a HD in some ways allI know is it's a bike and I like it. There is to much BS on what a person rides to me as long as you ride you are ok by me. Every body needs to get over the crap on weather you ride a HD or Jap bike grow up my two cents.
