Apes... cable/brake line length? 3 Years ago
I know this has been mulled over many times; there are so many posts regarding this. I just need a clear answer from you guys who have 16" apes. What is the length of cables I need to purchase for the 16" apes (Big Buffalo) I just bought? I've got 1.5" risers - I think that's stock height, right? Anyway, I'll need clutch, throttle push & pull, and brake line.

Thanks guys,
:-DD.

Its up to what will work and what you want. I have 15s on mine with 11 inch over stock cables and have plenty of room to go 16 as far as overall length most of the time you wont need to know that when ordering mine it was all done by how much over stock you need them to be..

Yeah I just don't want a ton of slack & have them looping out too much. I think I read somewhere that for 16" apes (with 1 1/2" risers) the 10" over stock cables and brake line would suffice. Can anyone confirm that for me?

Thanks,

I just ordered +8 cables for 14" bars, so +10 makes sense for 16"

Thanks for your replies, guys.

OK, so anyone know WHERE I can purchase cables (clutch, throttle push/pull, & brake line) for a good price? Did I hear of some kind of make-it-yourself brake line kit or something too?

Thanks,
:-DD.

Clifford here in the RSC can get you a good deal...lots have gotten theirs from him, and I will too when I can afford the bars... PM him.

Ha! I just purchased my bars from him... I should've gotten the cables/line through him at the same time! Geez.

Thanks
