In Canada a new roady is getting very close to a new HD...Big mistake...mostly because the dealer network is poor..If you go to most Yami dealers you will find 4 wheelers and snow machines, and 4 bikes...Yami chrome is crazy....And the only way you will feel like your part of a family is to join The Road Star Clinic

Interesting perspective... I'm not pushing anything on anyone, but by way of example, if you were married to a black woman and the "N"-word was thrown around casually and constantly, you might begin to feel just a tad offended by it. I think I've stated things as courteously as I could. I guess I should just "get my panties out of my butt," though. I'll get right on that.

I understand your example of a black wife but is "Jap" a derogatory name like the N-word? I've never heard of a "Brit" (Brittish) being offended for being called a Brit or a Canadian being called a Cannuck.

It could very well be my small town, backwoods upbringing in that I don't see it as derogatory. When I was growing up, the term "Jew someone down" and "thank you, that's mighty white of you" wasn't seen as bad either. I can see it now tho. Do the Japanese really get offended by the term?

Well I'll be.....learn something new everyday. I guess I'll add that to my list of obscenities not to say in public.

Seems like someone in the world is always getting offended by something. Just today, my employer instructed everyone to refer to the "SwineFlu" as "Influenza A H1N1" since apparently we had some Jewish & Muslim employees being offended by the term "SwineFlu".

I believe that words are just words. I can get up in arms over improper actions (physical attacks, removal of rights and liberties) but words just don't bother me. Call my mom, myself, my wife, even my kids a name and I'll tell you "whatever man, its just words".

No problem... Honestly. I'm not all nervous about it or even offended, and I realize that "Jap Bike" is part of the motorcycle culture. I'm not trying to make a big deal out of it. Just thought I'd mention it. That's all.

Now wander he had time to ride a million miles.

9 pages....really? Moderators have been very nice inside this thread(not delete/locking it). Name calling and brand bashing throughout. Some of you sound as bad as the guys you complain about. If you can't add constructive information to a thread , just don't say anything at all. Is that too hard? If you feel the need to respond to this post , and it's gonna be a smart comment , go ride first and think about it. Thank you, BB
