Boss Bags vs. U.S. Saddlebags 2 Years, 9 Months ago
Hey All, Just curious if anybody has an opinion about either Boss Bags or U.S. Saddlebags. Both are reinforced leather bags. The Boss Bags run about $1000 for bags and ghost brackets, while the U.S. Saddlebags cost about $600 for bags and brackets.

Any thoughts much appreciated...

Another option, ccsaddlebags.com . They are around $550 to $700 with ez-brackets.

I don't know anything about the Boss or US, but have really enoyed the cc's. They are also reinforced and have a metal back plate sewn into the bag for mounting.

My opinion is that they're both WAY overpriced.

I got my bags from Carolina Leatherworks. They're the thickest leather you could ask for, with super solid reinforced backing. I mounted EasyBrackets on them and there's no flex at all. And they cost about $700 (yes... $700) less than the Boss Bags you're looking at.

Just my $.02

:-DD.

I have the US Saddlebags and love 'em. They come complete with all the brackets and hardware you need to mount them. They were available at SScustom and come in two different sizes. I don't see them listed on SS anymore, but they may be able to get you a deal if you order through them. I paid about $450 for the large set about a year ago, price may have changed since then.

I dig your bike. I'm about to buy U.S.Saddlebags . . . I'll let you know what I think.
Question: If I take the rear seat off the fender (like yours), what will I find? What will I have to cover/plug, etc.?

Where did you get your backrest? Star? Aftermarket?
Thanks.

Sorry folks - just joined, and I'm new to forums.
First question (rear seat removal) was to "Galban"; second (rear seat back rest) was directed to "Slowride" and "Gram" . . .

Here's a link to a close up of my rear fender. 4 holes to plug.
