i was wondering if anyone has ridden or purchased the 09 road star Silverado? if so how is that fuel injection work? And my big question, with the floor boards, does it still drag on almost all corners? i have an 07 road star Silverado and the floor boards (yes I know there is a replaceable piece for this purpose) scrape on almost every corner, even though I know its going to happen, it is still a little disconcerting. I have about 20,000 miles on it, and thought by now, it wouldn't bother me, but it still does and I do not want to take off the floorboards.

Quite a few people here with 08s that can give you the scoop on the EFI. Sounds like they're happy. I have boards on my 06. The only way I can keep from scraping the boards is by not leaning so far. I do scrape less since I put the floorboard extensions on.

"If you're not scraping, you're not riding"

I too have not gotten comfortable with the sound or feel. I think my big thing is "how much more lean is there before I hit the deck?" I will still work on the scraping lean since I know it means that I'm getting the most out of the bike and my abilities. I guess I'd say I'd rather scrape and know where I am than not to scrape and wind up on my butt.

The extension move the boards forward. Mine also allow you to tilt them up to about 15 degrees. I got mine HERE but there is an article in the Tech Articles on how to make your own. And Billjr (member here) also sells them.

I changed my boards out for forwards........I can tell you from experience , there is a lot of room left for the lean. It took quite a bit of lean to touch anything (pipe was the first thing to touch) with the forwards. So if you don't like the boards simply because you don't know how far out you can lean 'em , I tell you to lean away , there's plenty of room beyond the scraping. BB

BTW , the new ones have no more ground clearance than yours.

I rike an '08 Silverado S and I love the EFI. No problems so far and definitely no headaches. Just turn the key, hit the button and go!

I have an 08. FI is the way good. Turn the key, start it up. No choke to fool with. Ready to ride as soon as it starts with no hiccups. The FI gives it what it needs so that the engine runs like it should in all conditions, cold or hot.
