hey EMU--congrats--just make sure you pop on back in here every once in a while so we don't think you got run over by a kangaroo--and as they say for Harleys--thunder in the hills, for Triumphs it's trumpets in the hills--(thanks Mr Slezy)-going back years---a long long time ago--back when I adored the old Bonnevilles--very simple looking bikes but awesome!! ronnie in MD VROOM VROOM

There'll be a lot of nostalgia floating around this year. Happy 50th Anniversary to the Bonneville

Hell, I'd go for one that was in BAD shape. In fact, the worse the paint looked, the better. It would be a hell of a rat bike.

Read the reviews on the Thunderbird a while back...... they said it was one heck of a motorcycle.

Congrats Emu..... I'm sure you'll enjoy it!

Oh yes, before I forget......

If you're eever in the Knoxville Tennessee area, there is a place called the Time Warp Tea Room that has a lot of the "old iron" there. They have meets there all the time and they all ride their vintage bikes in. Really neat to see all the old bikes...... lots of 2 strokes there too!

Re:ANOTHER TRAITOR 2 Years, 10 Months ago
Emu does an about face....I took up an offer on Saturday morning from the local Triumph dealer to take a Bonnie and a Rocket III Touring for a test ride. Both bikes appealed to me in different ways but the Rocket III really impressed me.

When I got back to the dealer with the Rocket III he asked me what I thought. I told him that I didn't really want to bring it back so he suggested I jump on a brand new one and take it home to show my wife.

With all the standard goodies on the Rocket III Touring it comes in much cheaper than the T'bird with similar options. I've got until tomorrow morning to make the decision but with the wife's 'go ahead' I think I'm about to become a Rocket III owner.
