#194891 jbiv (User) Junior Boarder Posts: 152 I know, it's been beat to death 3 Years ago   So I emailed Mobile One about useing their 75w90 gear oil in a roadstar transfer case. This was their reply: "No, this would not be an appropriate product." I don't want to void my warranty. Don't get analysis paralysis on this kind of thing. You will always be able to find someone that says you can't do it. Mobile one seems to use additives that aren't that harsh on yellow metals. From what I have mentally disected about the transfer case, I can't see where any of those metals would be present either way. Lots of Roadies have been running it for lots of miles with no problems. So it must work ok. I haven't heard of anyones transfer case self destructing. I think this is just another case of all the experts know is what the book tells them. They can only speak in generalities and what covers their backsides.
