And is it really strong enough to protect the engine in a fall over?

My bars and saddlebags took the brunt in my crash last November. She slid right out from under me like I was on 'black ice' ... but, as it turned out, it was only anti-freeze on a painted crosswalk. (I'll remember not to brake on that.) Anyway, the bags got tossed because the road rash of a 100ft. skid ate up the leather and studs and, if ya look real close at my sig pic, you'll see the bar is flat on the bottom. But, I didn't even lose a t/s light, break my w/s nor gouge my engine. So the 'engine guards' are just 'crash bars' to me ... but worth every penny.

I've always called them crash bars too but some people don't like that term so I call the engine guards in public.

Top gun

Yer guards are a little lower than the Big Bar ones ...

Good that they took the brunt of the skid...

I think the floorboard mounts generally would touchdown before the Big Bar

Lets have a slide crash dummy test

Again the Big Bars do protect in a mild roll over

Hey Top,

The bars on your rig don't resemble the Yamaha big bar. I wondering if I should be looking at something else. When it happens I want to limit the amount of damage a fall will do to the bike. With all the maniacs on the roads today, it is only a matter of time B4 I run out of luck.
