Seat Survey 5 Years, 2 Months ago
If you don't mind, I'd like to know what kind of seat everyone is using, how they like it, etc., etc.. I know it's all subjective and personal opinion but it would still be a starting point. There aren't many Roadie's around here so it's not like I can go find some and sit on them to get a feel.

I thought the stock seat was fine.........until.........I put different risers on. I was getting the pain between my shoulder blades from the reach on the stock risers so I switched em out to Baron's Kick Back risers. Huge difference in comfort. I just did a 100 mile cruise and my upper body felt fantastic. Now the bad part, it's sitting me different on the saddle so now my ass is killing me. The stock seat has to go. At about 75 miles I was scouting out a place to stop so I could stand up.

I tell ya, we don't need to torture any terrorists, just put them on a stock Road Star seat for a few hours and they'll tell you anything you wanna know.

I still have the stock seat, but I have a firehouse back rest which I bought off ebay. Before I purchased it my hind end would be numb after about 30 minutes of riding. Now I can ride between tanks and still not be numb. IT pushed me foward a little and now my hands don't go numb as bad either. So I am convince the riding position has a lot to do with the comfort level.

Stock 04' seat with a Utopia backrest on my 05'. DT pull backs. Keeps me sitting straight up and not reaching for the grips. 1.5" board extensions for that recliner feel. Very comfy..

I like the stock fine on mine though a little gel wouldn't hurt. Course I may not have as much weight pressing on my back side as some of these guys.. lol joke.

Roadie,
I'm sold on Mustang seats. And so is my wife! I put the wide touring seat on my Vulcan years ago and I also put one on my Roadstar when I got it. They sit a little higher but the comfort is much better, at least for me. And a much better passenger seat also.

In The Wind,
Aaron
