Man I tell ya, I just got my Ultimate seat with drivers backrest, and it feels better every time I sit on it. At first, it feel's like I am sitting on the tank, but it gets better and better, give it about 100 miles, and your fartbox will fall in love

I had stock seat and baron's starbar handlebar. I wa feeling too close to the handlebar. Now I have a Yami's boulevard seat (by corbin) and riding position is much more comfortable!

Well I have been told by the ladies at work that I have no ass. But when I first got my bike my tailbone sure felt it no that I have 9000 onher it has broken it to my noass. Could use a gelpad for long hauls.

Just got my mustang seat the other day. Waiting for snow to melt so I can mount it and see if it makes a difference over stock. Stock seat really got uncomfortable for me after about 30 minutes of riding. Sat on a mustang seat before, but never rode one, so I won't know about comfort 'til I can get some real saddle time in.

Hey 04
The stangs feel like wood when you first get them. I called and asked about mine and they said the quickest way to get it to fit your backside and speed up the break in process is to let the bike set out in the sun until the seat is good and hot and then go for a ride.

There is a substantial YYYYEEEEEOOOOOOOWWWWWWWW! factor in this process.
But it helped.

uhhh...do they make ridin' pants with kevlar (or better yet asbestos) in the seat?
doesn't sound like much fun

Then again, it never fails that I'll ride somewhere, get off the bike, eat lunch or whatever, and of course when I get back to the bike its scorching hot!! Oh well...at least now I know it should break in eventually...Thanks Musky!!

Cool. I'm not all that concerned about a break-in period for the seat, just as long as it's better than the stock. Sometimes I really dread going for a long ride.

Thanks again!

For me it's Corbin Dual Tour with a backrest. Lots of long rides over 600 miles a day and I love it. Took a while (two days)to break in. Feels hard on the butt at first, after that 'like a glove'!

I dont know what the streets are like where you are... but a trip

downtown and back where I live and my tailbone would ache every time I got off the

stock seat...

Several trips with the dual tourer and not a bit of pain...

Had the Corbin custom solo for a while..same thing...no pain

The stock is a MUCH MUCH lighter flexible ABS plastic.... compared to the heavier sturdier fibreglass seat pan... and the firmer seat foam will absorb shock MUCH better

AND the leather seat panels dont get quite as hot as the Vinyl

Post edited by: Pop Rivet, at: 2007/03/22 22:19
