good morning all,
this morning i was headed off to work and all the sudden my headlight, dimmer, and tail light go out. so i'm thinkin "don't run into the cops and just get to work!" well, just after having that thought who passes me in the opposite direction??? the cops! so i'm checkin my mirrors just to make sure he doesn't turn around, but i just wouldn't be me if it were that easy. so he does turn around and you'd think that i just robbed a bank the way he came up on me. i'm thinking...awwww s&#t, and he gets right next to me and starts chirping his siren (no lights) so i take this as a good thing (no lights means no ticket)! then he comes over in my lane like he's going to P.I.T. me and i start speeding up to get out of his way. i throw my hands up, as if to say what the f___, and he immediately gets back over. we slow to about 20 and he rolls his window down and says, "your headlights out!" a little back and forth and away he goes. don't think he knows how close he was to runnin me off the road.
anyways, is there a fuse for those three lights? (headlight, brakes, and dimmer) i tried searching the forum and there are about 200 pages of material to sift through. thanks

Well first of all, glad your ok and didn't get into some sand or gravel while that was going on. I will say that just like every other occupation out there today, there are good employees and bad ones. I know what it feels like to get pulled down by Johnny Law, but I would much rather get pulled over normally than something like this. A safe cop would have pulled you down, walked up to you and told you your headlight was out, then told you to ride safe and have a great day. This guy trying to talk to you trough an open window at 20 MPH is no better that a 16 Year old girl texting on the phone and putting on eyeliner while doing a lane change on I-355 at 80 MPH!!!!

Glad you're ok dude , yes there is a fuse , open your left side battery box(the side where the drive belt is) and you will immediately will see the fuse box , it is pretty much self explanatory , you might want to check all fuses just to play it safe , cheers

Take off the left side cover. Toward the front is the fuse box. There are two fuses for lighting; the headlight fuse is also the tail light, and front running lights. There is a signaling system fuse for the stop light, turn signals, and horn.

Stopped on the side of the road last night (out of the way) to make a quick phone call. Saw an officer coming down the road in my mirror , He pulled up to make sure I was OK. Thought that awful nice of Him. The officer you encountered probably didn't know how uncomfortable he made you , but it's nice that some will look out for cyclist. BB

Oddly enough I blew that fuse last night. Turned out that stupid switch for the running lights that is in the left light. One of the wires came off and grounded out against the housing.
