I have a 2004, and I honestly only give it a full wash 2 or 3 times a year, and I have no problems with the chrome or the paint... Then again, mine has always been a "desert bike" in that it's lived its entire life in Arizona & New Mexico, neither of which is known for it's humidity (today's max humidity is 19%). Also, no salty sea air anywhere near here... RK
