I posted a couple of comments on the comment section there (one got cut short)
Live to ride, ride to Live! Duh? Stunt riders are cool, they really practice what they do! They are good at what they do!
With that said, because a kid has a bike capable of doing such stunts does not mean he should attempt these stunts on a Hi-way. He didn't even have a license! Frank said "No respect" and he's right. Who let this kid ride off on their bike? This is a tragedy that should have been avoided, a family lost a son, possibly a brother and friends are morning him. It could have been avoided!
Nothing funny about the loss of a life, we all know that! Sure it was his fault, but there is no need to call him stupid, or Darwin, or anything, we didn't know him, we only knew about 1 stunt he tried to do, and that's all we know.

And people whine about Florida's new law that hits violators for $1,048 for first offense doing wheelies.

Since the time began, young men have done stupid things including myself.
This young man killed himself with youthful foolishness and it is very sad . He was someones grandson, son, cousin ,little brother ,bigbrother. But Billy Lane killed a biker driving Sh...t faced on the wrong side of the interstate and people talk like he is a God with no mention of the man he killed or that any thing is wrong with that.

It happens all the time and this is the second instance I've heard of involving an unendorsed rider. A few years ago a guy was killed on a superbike not even a mile from the dealership he hit a light pole doin about 100. He had no endorsement and had never ridden a bike before that day. I think you should have to have a license to buy a bike or at least a special endorsement for a sport bike. RIP

I refuse to tiptoe through life just to arrive at death safely.........
We all know it, we all say it, we all live it. But there are things you can do that speed up the trip. I lost my best friend, on his way to my 30th bday party to a sportbike crash. Estimated 130mph into the rear of a BMW. He was in the #1 lane, the BMW in the #2 lane, and the BMW changed lanes. He had nowhere to go and too fast to redirect it. At the moment of impact, no one cares about fault. No one cares about what they were doing. Its a loss, and people, family, friends, coworkers now mourn a loss. Until you have sat in the ER and heard them come out and say "sorry" you don't know the feeling, and once you do, you realize you can't judge.
I don't condone the style, hell, I used to be that guy...and I have a mohawk on my sportbike helmet...haha...but that day changed my life, and my riding style. I still feel the need to go fast, I still ride in Dallas traffic daily, hell, I have tried to wheelie my R*...haha...but there is a time and a place and an environment for these things. yeah, I think they are stupid, they are morons, they are definitely raising the percentage, but in my mind, they are a rider down if it happens, and I won't judge it or talk smack on it. We ALL assume the risk by turning the key.
And Dealer5d, I TOTALLY agree.

Truly sorry to hear about the loss of another young life. If I could get my legs to work I would probably ride a v-max but I can,t I have to have my legs straight out do to so many tumbles and falls plus arthur. Yeah we shouldn,t do those tricks on the highway where others can be harmed. But I probably shouldn,t lite my roadie up in front of my house either but I do. I also believe the young man should of had a liscense but he didn,t and he is dead. If he had lived a little longer he may of changed his riding a little. I hate to hear of any rider down. And I really hate to hear of a rider down and dead. just my .02 for what its worth. ride safe.... ride hard.... ride forever.

No disrespect to anyone . . . but c'mon guys , I see all kinds of posts here about "wanting more power" , we all tweak and fix our bikes as we was gonna be doing 100mph every time we ride , we all got a at least 1600cc motorcycle , why ?? because we like it , because we choose to , a 650cc motorcycle will do exactly what our bike does , but it is our choice to go this route
I am not saying I condone what this "kids" (I have seen people older than me do all kinds of stunts and I am 34) I am just saying that the kid is dead , sure he was a fool and did a stupid . . . no , a very stupid thing , but c'mon guys he is a biker like it or not , all we should be writing is "may he rest in peace"
We all are in danger , sure some push the limit , but if we as bikers don't try to understand or to at least show some some respect for someone's brother , father , son , or dad that just passed away , who can we expect to get this from ??
cagers ?? I don't think so . . . just my $.02 pesos
May he rest in peace
LOKO is 100% correct.....We want more power, why?? To go faster quicker, period. When I was and you were young did you obey every traffic law that you knew?? NO, and nobody that rode when they were young can say "Yes" to that.... And when some kid buys a crotch rocket and dies its because he is a dumb kid??....No, he's another biker that took a risk and didn't make it. RIP Kid..

Too bad he killed himself; if he had ridden awhile longer he may have learned to respect the machine and what it could do to him if he abused it. Yes, we are ALL guilty of being foolish, we just got away with it.
Just my thoughts.

loko your 100% right but i think when you get a little older you tend to have a little more respect for the bike the road and the cagers around you i love the speed but there is a time and place for everything there is a sh@#t load of sport bike clubs in ny and they for the most part are as@#$^holes they stop traffic so they can wheelie on the expressway or buzz you when your doing 75 80 RESPECT the bike and the road sorry to see a young kid die for no reason maybe his boys might think twice before doing wheelies
rip in wheelie guy
