Well, as the subject suggest, you should always look left when turning left at low speeds.

The wife and I went to the grandsons ballgame tonight. When we got to the parking lot, I was doing a typical low speed left u-turn at the end of the lot to go back to a space. Was pretty close quarters and I looked to the right to check how close to a truck I was and the Roadie came to a stop under full left turn.

This thing drops like a rockwhen you do that . The wife didn't think it was so funny as she rolled off the back and hit her head on the parking lot. She had her helmet on and only jammed her wrist a little, but was not too happy with me.

Knew better, just didn't do better.

Glad you're both OK. Also gotta watch out for those few stones kicked up from knows where also. Talked to many a rider who dumped their bike from them critters. Just coming home from work tonight I barely say a fresh roadkill possum in time.

Yep. At low speeds, the front brake is a no-go. Drag the rear brake, and only look where you want the bike to go. Glad you and the spousal unit are okay.

Jerry "motorman" Palladino couldn't have said it any better.

Same here, Doc. It's my superhuman strength that saves me, though! LOL

Kidding aside, I was down in Charleston, SC a couple of weeks ago at a STAR event. There was also a motor patrol competition going on at the same site. All I can say is, those guys are freaking amazing! So when they talk, we should all be listening!!!

Almost lost it on a street corner yesterday, there was a long slat laying in the road right in the middle of my turn, had to quick straighten up, missed it by a smidge then had to continue on with an even tighter turn to keep from going off into the curb. Yikes! Made my heart skip a beat or two.
