3 words: Head and Eyes.

'nuff said.

Glad it was just a bruise to your ego and an evil look from the wife. Live and learn.

looking to see how much room you have in a slow turn is a natural response, unfortunatly on a bike, you see the extra room and try to use it..........

Thanks scoop for the thought and the picture. Tried to find it earlier today to explain to the wife what I was supposed to be doing.

Well, as the subject suggest, you should always look left when turning left at low speeds.

The wife and I went to the grandsons ballgame tonight. When we got to the parking lot, I was doing a typical low speed left u-turn at the end of the lot to go back to a space. Was pretty close quarters and I looked to the right to check how close to a truck I was and the Roadie came to a stop under full left turn.

This thing drops like a rockwhen you do that . The wife didn't think it was so funny as she rolled off the back and hit her head on the parking lot. She had her helmet on and only jammed her wrist a little, but was not too happy with me.

Knew better, just didn't do better.

Did the same thing to the wife in the driveway beginning of spring. She was a gymnast so she did a great roll.Still pisted off , but a great roll.

Don't know how hard she hit her head, but you might want to think about getting her a new helmet. The foam used in helmets isn't designed to absorb more than one hit. Even if it only compressed a tad bit on this hit, it's that much less protection she'll have in a more serious accident. Even just dropping a helmet from waist high will damage the foam enough to warrant replacing it.
