I have a couple that I like, The River Road Anvil, The Vanson VentMax and a Joe Rocket Perforated. As stated above it's hard to wear one in 105 degree heat and that's all we have had in Austin for the past month, and it hasn't hit our hot months yet. Unfortunately all the manufacturers seem to think Black is the only acceptable color for leather so that doesn't help at all.

I got this one from Himalaya Leather (I think they actually supply Leather Up), and I am VERY happy with it...has two removable liners, one being waterproof. Take them out and it's cooool mesh & CE armor. And you can't beat the price of $39...

Order on size larger, though...I have a 50" chest and went with the 5XL.

Could not pass it up for that price! Just ordered one, many thanks for the referrals guys!

I use a Tour Master...mesh with the armour in the forearms, elbows and shoulders. Had a pad in the back took it out...feels good riding but as someone else said about near brand, sitting still can be a bit warm. Has the reflective piping and plenty of pockets for stuff.

Synagris, sounds like you have the same jacket I do. I'm running the Tour Master Air Intake Series 2 jacket in white. The lighter color really helps with the heat absorbsion, not to mention it matches my bike.

Both the wife and I sport River Road Yuma Jackets. Vents well with good protective inserts on elbows, shoulders and back. If you're looking for that subdued look, this may be a good option. It's a little chilly once the sun goes down riding in the Montana mountains, but great during summer afternoon rides.

I use a silver first gear meshtex. Works great, removable armor. Actually, It can feel almost cooler than a T shirt, at least if you move at all.

Lighter color reflects the suns rays well, and breeze flows right through. I use a newer version of this: http://www.webbikeworld.com/r2/firstgear/hypertex-mesh.htm

The article is right. You don't want to wear this without the windbreak liner below 75 deg. It is quite cool. The newest revision has much improved removable armor...has some sort of approval
