Just remember when you win a bike what ever the retail price is for that bike you have to claim as income for the year. OMG wait till you see what that does to your taxes!!!!!!

Speaking as a guy who routinely has five-figure W2-G's to deal with (remember, I teach gaming seminars around the country for a living and I happen to be pretty good at winning) I can tell you that good record-keeping is a must if you want to minimize your tax exposure on the bike win. I'm assuming you "play" at the casinos. It is extremely important that you track your game play, cash in-cash out, amount of time played (hours per day) etc. if you want to deduct losses that can offset this win. Hand-written journals supported by receipts for travel, hotels, etc. are acceptable to the IRS. The key is you can only write off "losses" to the extent of your wins. If you lost $38K while winning a $10K jackpot you can only deduct $10K of those losses. You won't owe the taxes on the $10K win, but you'll still be $28K in the bucket. The real problem with most gamblers is that they win that $10K jackpot, then give the entire $10K back to the casino. With no offsetting losses that $10K win turns into $4K of back taxes you'll owe come tax time.

Sometimes it sucks to win. That's why I prefer casino games where the wins don't come with a W2G attached. (Table games vs. slots).
