When you call your parts store about these, most of them are clueless, I asked for the NGK/DPR7EIX-9 and had no luck, called the same stores and asked for NGK stock #7803 and almost all of them carried the plugs. Reason these guys are having a problem is NGK started listing their #'s by the 4 digit stock # a couple of yrs back. The programers usually type in this # not the long one, actually a lot easier to look up this way. As for the kid saying only Iridums for the bike, Oreilly's pays by comission, Nuff said. What should I do? What will happen if I use these? According to the # decoding chart I got for NGK plugs the 6289 don't even have the same thread dia and is a colder plug. I guess my chart could be wrong but it was correct on the NGK DPR7EIX9 and that is the correct plug. But with further research on my own I see that the others that you said are the correct ones. I bought them online and will see if I can exchange them. Thank you for your input.
