Trailers 2 Years, 10 Months ago
I am looking for a simple, single rail, low loading angle trailer to haul my R* around behind my motorhome. Ideally I would like an enclosed unit but it's a bit out of my budget right now. I have seen many types online, folding, compact etc. Any recomendations?

I am looking for good quality/reliability. I can get a small kit trailer at Wall-Mart for about $250 but not sure I want to trust it with my STAR. Just want to know what some of you out there are using to haul your rides around. My wife and I are planning a trip to the Smokey Mountain area and have been offered a enclosed bike trailer to use. That may clinch it for me ( just will have to save a little more. I have also looked at a hydraulic lift setup that plugs into the receiver hitch on the motorhome but wouldn't work to well on the back of my Wrangler.

I personally prefer this, but it may be overkill for you.

I should add here, I would prefer to sell the Motorhome and buy a Pop-up to pull behind the R*. Can't yet convince the wife to get rid of he 5* accomodations for a 2* Bike Camper. It's all new yet and she is starting to think she needs her own bike (Happy Dance, Solo Seat, Yippie Skippie). Were starting off with small trips and mama is enjoying it for the most part except for the occational bumps in the road in which she feels she is getting pitched off the bike.

I picked up a 6'X10' flatbed trailer with 15" tires from a local trailer builder a few years back for $600.00. You may be able to find a smaller trailer that would suit you. It's something you can look into. Good luck on your search.

I just bought a 5x8 us cargo w/15in tires ,27in sides and a 4ft mesh gate. It was $1100.00 .It pulls great. not much extra room on it when loaded with the R . I modified the front of the trailer with a built in wheel chock. It extended the middle of the trailer about 6 in and the front tire fits right inside of it. I personaly would not put my R on a $250.00 trailer from anywhere. You might be Ok ... and then again? I just got back from a 1400 mile trip and hardly knew I was towing it. It was more $$$ But I have no regrets ,Just piece of mind.

I have a better idea, and it won't cost you a cent. Let the wife drive the RV and you can RIDE the bike. Trailers are made for boats after all.

I saw a Road* on a trailer the other day, it was so funny because the guy had a HD cover over it! Maybe that's why we think we see so many HD's on trailers?
