Haven't heard anything for a couple days. What's up with the bikes? Running? Running bad? Running good?

Musky--

Thanks for asking!

I always have grand plans to "Finish everything up" on the bike on weekends, but then life gets in the way... I have made A LOT of progress though, a little bit at a time, stealing a few moments in the garage when I can. Thankfully, the weather here has given me a good excuse...been extremely windy, and...

It snowed today.

Anyway, here's a short list of what I have accomplished so far:

1 - Ported manifold
2 - new handlebars, risers & Pro-1 tach riser kit, Kury ISO grips
3 - changed throttle cables, brake lines & clutch cable to braided stainless (bled & bled & bled brakes)
4 - changed OEM headlight & running lamps to tri-bar black dot
5 - replaced scratched Yami Big Bar engine guard with new one; added o-ring highway pegs
6 - added 3.5"/10 degree floorboard extensions
7 - replaced OEM heel/toe shifter with single billet shifter
8 - replaced stock brake pedal with V-Star 1100 brake pedal
9 - rejetted carb (per Doc's specs) for WOT test
10 - drained & cleaned gas tank
11 - removed tank emblems & "YAMAHA" sticker from fender
12 - Installed Stebel Nautilus air horn
13 - added white LEDS along frame with remote control
14 - changed out short stock windshield with Yamaha Tall Wide shield
15 - Installed LED kit to change rear turn signals to running & brake lights (GREAT kit!)
16 - rerouted crankcase breather hose & added filter at the end

All that's left to do is drill my hard bags to add 4 more running/brake lights...and then reassemble.

REALLY hope to finish it off & have it on the road by Monday...going back up into the 70s & sunny next week, and I WANT TO RIDE!!! I NEED TO RIDE!!!

So...been a little busy... ... I'll post pics and get rid of those boring girls in the sigpic ASAP...

RK

Hey RK. You use a hair dryer to remove Yamy's brand on the fender? Thats what I did when I first got the bike home 3 years ago on the tank and windshield stickers. I gotta get the fender and side covers cleaned up too. Just wondering if the old ladies blow dryer is the way to go? Later Bro

Post edited by: vickk12785, at: 2007/03/30 02:20

Hey gab

86 or 87 (pump number) octane is what we need. I'm running a Bosh filter right now because that's what I could find around town. This link has a list of filters. I haven't heard 1 person say anything good about the Fram filters so I would avoid it.

Sound like my life except looking at your list I'd say you accomplished a lot.

I've:

- taken the cover off
- started it up
- pumped up the rear tire

What girls!
