Passing lights 2 Years, 10 Months ago
I guess you call them passing lights. Any way I have one that I just can't keep the lens from turning sideways. I've tried electrical tape from the metal back of the lamp to the rubber gasket. holds for a while then side ways again need help please!!!!!!!!!!

Fixed mine with 3M weather strip adhesive from autozone. I used to have to fix it after every ride. Now it has been a year and it is till straight. I also used some different screws to hold the rings.

I used locktite on the inner threaded portion when my turn signal turned sideways and would not stay. No problems since.

Used it on the rubber gasket between the rubber and the housing. A little dab on the gasket and the light in just one small spot will keep the glass from rotating. Main thing is the rubber to the housing.

Mine was rotating between the rubber and the glass.. That is where I put a dab of adhesive.

Thanks, mine has been driving me nuts I'm always straitening it. I did'nt know if weatherstrip adhesive would hold up to the heat of the lamp. But it sounds like it will. I'll fix mine today. Kinda odd mine is only the right side. the left one has never turned.

Both of mine turn. I'm not going to worry about it until it cools down here. 110 yesterday.

Not so sure how they mount, but can you get a star washer under there? I've also had luck using black RTV on my Chopper mirrors. It stays tacky and is great for keeping screws from turning under vibration.
