Morning Canada

About a year ago there was a thread about filing a complaint with the NHTSA regarding SVS over on the RSR and the question came up but I don't know if there wa ever an answer.

Does Canada have something like the NHTSA?

I went to the start of this post and still don`t get it(carb too hot)
If the carb can get to hot why does it it have a"heater" on it.

Canadians can go here for information: http://www.tc.gc.ca/roadsafety/tp/tp2822/page4_e.htm

Basically you need to call 1-800-333-0510 to speak to someone. There is no website where you can fill in the information.

So the carb can be warm until the motor gets it too hot. Yami wants to be sure you aren't getting any ice.

The change in pressure as the mix moves through the venturi cools it. It becomes a problem at cool temps or if the humidity is high.

Hi Vegasdave,
I think they were referring to after a ride and the bike is turned off. Kinda like older small block chevy starters, holly carbs, and why radiators puke on the ground after you turn the car off.

I`m with you on this one Bear.I like the fact I can trouble shoot my carb if I have a problem,BUT theres so many stinking variables some times FI would be nice.
With in my riding radius elevation changes by thousands of feet.I`ve found what I thinks a happy medium.

But still don`t understand this post(carb to hot).I`m riding when it`s
95 to 105 degrees,"LOW" humidity and have had no problems.

Morning Vegas

Not everyone has the problem. There are a couple threads going about Carb puking and running pumpless. This thread is an off shoot of those. We're on a mission to find out what's wrong.
