Great info, getting my non-church language ready now for the cable replacements to come. are there any detailed instructions for fat fingered and fat headed wrench wanna-bes like me for getting the cables disconnected from the bike.

If you have small enough hands, you can actually swap the throttle cables out without taking off the tank.

But, taking it off is always a good thing to do when messing with the bars. Trust me...

Relax and just take your time and you will find that it is alot easier than you think. If you get frustrated, go drink a beer and come back to it.

Tampa, where did you pick up the internal throttle and how difficult was it to install?

Rage:

www.Demonscycle.com $64.00

Install wasn't bad.

1. Cut off 4" of the RH bar.
2. Drill two holes for the set screws.
3. Tack weld on the outer sleve once you have it adjusted where you want it.
4. Buy a 50" Harley cable ($12.00) and cut off the end.
5. Run it through the bars and tighten it up.

Obviously, you'll have to find a solution for grips. I found a polished billet set. Set screws hold them on. But, there are a ton of options.

Here's a close up. Cleaned up those bars really well, if I do say so...

Hope that helps ya.

When I did the internal throttle on my chopper, I got a cable with an adjuster at the bottom, similar to what you have on a clutch cable. It saves a ton of time on the setup, and leaves room for error or to pull slop outa the throttle. I used the V-twin unit, it stays in with set screws so no welding required, and has a great return spring built in. I did end up tapping additional set screws into my bars to hold it tighter. Getting those cables off your bars really cleans up the bike.
