2 more replies. No problem since going puimpless. That's 5 for 5.
A question to those would be "Did you have problems before you went pumpless".

I took off the short hose from the carb to the air cleaner and got a hose approved for gas and hooked it up to the carb and ran it to the bottom of the bike. Now when it pukes it runs on the ground. It only happens on hot days. The port on the carb points to the rear of the bike just behind the aor cleaner. Hope this helps.

Hi Everyone
This happened to me the first day I got my new 05 R* last sept
Started again yesterday 62 F
Stoped to make a call wouldnt start and smelled of gas
Than stoped to get gas and would start puke and stall was like a waterfall of gas coming out below the air cleaner
called the dealer he said to tap on the float bowl with a screw driver or something , So I did I also let it sit for 15 mins anyway it started and off I went.

There's a ton of questions I could ask with all sorts of variables. My point is more simple. We know people with the pump get it. So that's a given. I'm just looking for anyone without a pump who has had it happen. I'm sure never going to claim the results of this prove anything one way or the other.
Unless of course it shows I'm right.

Eastern PA...no puking, maybe a slight smell can't really remember so it wasn't that bad...I ride year round so temps from high 30&deg to 100&deg plus...
No mods to the carb, air box, fuel pump etc. Did a Stage 1 to the pipes...basically a stock bike. While I enjoy reading about y'all's tinkering adventures I have two left thumbs other than basic maintenance.
Regards, Ted

I don't have the problem either. I don't think it has anything to do with the jetting. I've got a thread going over on the RSR and I'm hearing float level, Ethonol causing deposists, carb heater, pump,..... Real can - O - worms

I'm coming at it from the other direction.
A good sampling of pumpless guys who had this problem before ditching the pump but don't have the problem now.

Hey Doc
I included that in my thread on the RSR. It is a valid point. I just knew this was going to be a complicated issue so I was going for simple. Or maybe lazy

Post edited by: Musky, at: 2007/04/01 10:14
