Every time I replay it in my head, I'm just thankful my honey came out of it unhurt. I've never dumped a bike on the road before (once in the driveway, but never the road) in all the years I've ridden. I was so busy trying to keep the scoot from falling (like a fool), I couldn't see what was happening to my wife. All I could think of is I hurt her. I'm guessing it all happened "in slow motion". I've had plenty of wipeouts in my life (on other bikes as well as my own 2 left feet) and it always seems to go reeeaaallll sloooowwww. Like a higher power wants you to remember the pain from last time and compare it with what's gonna happen next. Take it easy for a while. Older and wiser don't mean quicker and better healing. I'm sitting there trying to figure out why in the hell the bike won't make the corner. Not a lot, but enough to remind me she's back there.
