Thanks everyone. Every time I replay it in my head, I'm just thankful my honey came out of it unhurt. I've never dumped a bike on the road before (once in the driveway, but never the road) in all the years I've ridden. It was a lonely stretch of road, too, so there was no one else around but us.

Glad you and the missus are O-K. I Ride with my wife on the back a lot and always worried about her way more than myself. At least she knows how to ride, I can hardly tell she's there.

That's how I felt as I was going down. I was so busy trying to keep the scoot from falling (like a fool), I couldn't see what was happening to my wife. All I could think of is I hurt her. But the seat and floorboards are high enough to allow her to clear the bike in time.

Glad to hear you're both okay. I'm guessing it all happened "in slow motion". I've had plenty of wipeouts in my life (on other bikes as well as my own 2 left feet) and it always seems to go reeeaaallll sloooowwww. Like a higher power wants you to remember the pain from last time and compare it with what's gonna happen next. Take it easy for a while. Older and wiser don't mean quicker and better healing.

Deep philosophical question... If a roadie falls on a deserted stretch of road, and no one is around to see, did it really fall??

Yeah well, my wife is still getting used to the new bike, and has that tendency to lean the OTHER way when we turn... I'm sitting there trying to figure out why in the hell the bike won't make the corner. That and she has this signal we used on the small bike, she squeezes with her legs if we're going too fast for her - I've got aching ribs with the R*!!!

Sometimes mine will cause the bike to wobble a bit as she adjusts her position in the seat. Not a lot, but enough to remind me she's back there. She doesn't direct me with her knees in my ribs...yet.
