C.Q. Releasing is not the problem, getting it to latch is. If I push down on the latch with a screwdriver, it wont lock. It just springs back open ( unlocked). Everything seems to move freely, so I think that the brass arm is suppose to hold the latch in the locked position but isn't. Denny
