Your 08 RS has a 1 year Road hazard warranty. You can just call a tow truck and have them bring it into the nearest shop and Yami is supposed to reimburse you. Check with your dealer first.

Also, while at the dealer, tell them your going on a long trip, ask them to check the bike over. If your riding 2 up or going to have a lot of gear on the back, tell them to adjust the shock for 2 up.

Keep your cell phone and emergency numbers handy, don't sweat the small stuff and enjoy the ride! Take your TIME.

Just some common sense thoughts you've probably already thought of :
1. In 25+ years of riding, I've never had a flat ... but thought
about it for 25+ years. I bought a Slime Mini kit from
www.crusercustominzing.com ( about $35.00 ). With a mini-compressor
it should be able to get you to a place to get the tire properly
repaired. Plus..there's a"comfort factor" having it in the saddle bag.

2. My geico package has a roadside service/towing option.

3. I'd map out a list/phone numbers of Yamaha dealers in route just in case.

4. That throttle hand will get tired. Look into a vista-cruise
throttle lock ( about $35 ) or a throttle wrap clamp ( about $10 )

5. A good service on the bike ahead of time and I would not expect any problems.

Keep the shiny side up and have a great trip. Give us an update when you get back.

Put Ride-)On in your tires and you will reduce the chances of getting a flat by 90-95%. I got back from a trip to Colorado a couple of weeks ago and had a great time. Go over Independence Pass if you can, it's absolutley fantastic. So are a number of other passes. It's all great riding, wish I was heading back out there again.

When you heading this way? What route are you looking at? If you need anything at all don't hesitate to give a shout out. I live up North in Dacono, CO and would be happy to lend a hand if you need anything.

That's the great thing about this site. If you give the membership a heads up many will be glad to assist in any way. Have a safe trip and looking forward to some pics of the journey.

If you are anywhere around the Boulder area look me up. Free place to hang and rest, tweak the bike if needed. No problem!!!
