Congradulations. I think apes are a natural fit on our bikes. Drag bars are cool too if thats the look your going for, but as for me apes are the only way to go w/ a roadie. And yes do it your self it's a confidence builder for those of us not so mechanicly inclined. after I did my switch, I immediatly felt like I can tackle more mods myself and w/ the site here any problems we run into aren't so bad anymore.

Good for you and the new apes. I'm confident that you will be blown away by the change in your riding experience. I know that I was.

Doing the internal wire set up is a chore, but as other have said, worth it. After getting the wires done the big chore was grips and switch housings. The old grips and such didn't look so good on the new Kongs so I went with Kurys. The switch housing had a lot of holes left over from the internal wiring efforts, but Doc pointed me toward a fix that I'm okey with for the time being; shiny metal tape. Covers the holes and so hard to see that it is there unless I get right up on it.

Enjoy becoming one of RSC's ape division members.

Planet42: I recently joined PGR, and am interested in mounting 2 6"x9" flags to the back of my R* - maybe off the license plate. Does anyone have any suggestions on what mounts are good and where I can get them?
