Conan....great advice from everyone. I had the same issues on my '06. I put in some nylon spacers on the belt side to move the bag out about 3/4 inch. That stopped them from hitting the guard but it's got a pretty good ding in it right now. I think I'll take Doc's & Slothy's advice and remove mine as well next time I'm down there. There's probably line an inch gap between the belt and the belt guard so I don't think you would ever actually hit the belt.
