That was my first thought. I see that all the time, especially with younger drivers. Driving with their knees while texting with both hands. I always watch my mirrors when stopped at a red light.

Ditto. I leave it in first gear, watch my mirrors, and have the bike at an angle so I can (hopefully) make an escape if I see someone coming up behind me real fast.
