It's only funny if you paid more. Right Matcap? He's the one who told me about that price and he was right, so jokes on you if you pay more. Advance Auto.

I just put the Iridiums in and I'm amazed! No more "spark knock." I kid you not, I rode it yesterday, blasted all over the place, got it nice and hot, and while it still sounds like a sewing machine with a 2-into-1 exhaust, it no longer pings like crazy leaving stop lights or under a light load.

I still think refining the jetting at the really low throttle settings will make it even quieter, but the plugs are a big improvement. I think they resist pre-ignition a little better, perhaps keeping the heat range more consistent due to less material in the combustion chamber. Anyone think I'm crazy?

MidStar,

I have no doubt you're crazy. After all, you are in the Clinic!!

I think I need to hit AutoZone and get me a set of these. Although my Roadie is running great, maybe it could be better..

I first heard about these plugs here from you guys and thought really how much difference can a plug make?Well after all the raves I had to try a set.I am now a believer.Bike runs smoother,Starts and warms up faster and like others here I picked up a solid 3 miles to the gallon. If they last as long as claimed its really a win-win.

Here's the link to NGK's plug finder. Click on the little "x" when you get through the search to see the plug part # (it's not 4164, btw).

Looks like it's Part# DPR7EIX-9, and Stock# 7803.

:-DD.

To save you a little trouble, I just returned from Autozone to pick up a set for my Roadie, gave them the part # & stock # & was informed that they don't carry them nor can they order them! I called O'Reilley's and they ordered them for me for $5.99 apiece.

4164 is the Autolite standard plug number for the Roadie. I have been running them for about 18,000 miles on my 3rd set. I change every 8K whether they need it or not. Plugs are so cheap there is no reason not to change them regualarly. You all do have me thinking that maybe some Iridiums are in my future though at the next change.
