2006 roadliner s (salvage) 2 Years, 7 Months ago
Anyone think this is a good deal? http://www.390bike.com/new_vehicle_detail.asp?sid=08957025X10K6K2009J4I52I11JPMQ4968R0&veh=21720&pov=1076084
I'm wondering if the road liner and road star have similar frames. It would be cool to have a 1900cc FI and a fatter tire.

Liner frame is aluminum. Don't know about engine fitting roadstar frame. Don't think swingarm for fat tire will either. There is always a way, cut and weld.

Nothing will swap , plain and simple. But a good fabricator can make anything happen. BB

I wonder if anyone (like rc components) makes a frame for these. Might be worth it

If you could find a hardtailed frame, a little bycycle seat and some handelbars....you would have to strap your hands to the bars and your butt to the seat!!!

A nice looking job on a 'liner over at BMS. Stock frame though.

IMO, I'm not a big fan of salvage title bikes. The physical damage may appear minimal, but you'll have a tough time selling it on a salvage title later on. Also, frame damage, especially on aluminum, scares me as stress fractures may not show up until waaayyy too late. Call me crazy, but there are so many good, well maintained, clean titled bikes out there that I'd rather buy an old R* in immaculate shape rather than a new bike on a salvage title. But that's just me, and I'd hate to tell you how many cheap shirts that I bought, washed once, shrunk to junk and threw away rather than buying one good one.
