HD part No. 58121 85B Some put an HD before the number, HD lists them as Wind Deflectors, I think it was like $79 had to order 1 week to delivery. You can ditch the box at the store and sneak home with them.

You can buy Chrome tape and chrome the nylon spacer part you see in my pic with it, I have no vibration with my set up at all. I also used the lock washers that are sorta chip shaped. Quick on and off. I also updated mine, the rubber part is a cone sorta shaped rubber washer I found in plumbing dept for faucets, I had to drill the hole larger for the bolt but the cone shape centers everything and it is harder and obviously more resistant to weather and looks neater. Plus it's a snap to put on and off.

I just took my HD lowers off, I found them to be to narrow. I made a set last year that work much better and will use them from now on. The HD lowers do look much better. I'll put them on when I need a chrome fix.

Re:HD Lowers 2 Years, 4 Months ago
I put mine on tonite using some random white nylon spacers from a local hardware store. I would love to have something better, as in strong, and esp with the correct inside diameter so the bolt holds the spacer perfectly centered, and also hopefully at least 1/2 if not 3/4 inch in outside diameter. If anyone comes up with a great spacer, please post it here.

thanks
Kurt

I found a great selection of chrome spacers at several hardware stores in my area (southeastern PA). Now we have some kick-ass, old family owned hardware stores, but even the local Ace Hardware has 'em. Keep looking in the nuts-and-boltz isle....If I recall they were about $5.75 each for the ones for the HD lowers.

Just curious. Does anyone have these installed between the mounts and the windshield? Mine are mounted outside of the windshield. Sometimes I want to remove my shield and it would be nice if I didn't have to take everything else off with it. WDYT?

the stock Star windshield mount has 2 holes at the bottom for mounting lowers, so it seems all you would need to do is trim the excess length off the Harley part, and drill 1 (maybe 2?) holes in the Harley part that line up with those existing mount holes.

If you get the right HD lowers ,you dont have to drill any thing, and you can leave them on and take off your windshield!!!!!!!
