There's a night and day difference in the BAK and a stock replacement K&N. With the BAK you're opening her up and letting her breath, thus making more HP and torque. With the K&N you're just replacing with a better filter medium that can be cleaned and won't fall apart like Yamaha's are known too. You'll get a slightly more but unnoticeable amount of air. If you don't mind rejetting the BAK is the way to go and then it only makes sense if you add aftermarket pipes too.

Edit to add: In my speed reading I missed the 2008 part, there's folks here that can tell you what you'll need for your fuel injection.
