Replacing front brake pads (shims/springs) 5 Years, 1 Month ago
I just ordered and recieved 2 sets of EBC organic (FA 252) front brake pads. This this the first time I will have changed brake pads on a bike, looking at service manual seems fairly straight forward. It says in the service manual that you should always use new shim and springs, which did not come with the EBC pads. So my question is, can I use the existing shim & springs, or, do most fokls go to the stealership and get new shim/springs. Figured I'd beet er ask the experts! Appreciate your feedback!

I reused my spring and shims when I did my brakes about 4000miles ago. No Problems

I reused mine. Cleaned everything up with Brake Parts cleaner and a nylon brush and green scotch pad. Works great for about 4,000 miles.
