Agreed, Mark7 and Newbie. I've had mine up to 110mph, with saddlebags and windshield, but honestly, there's really no good reason to do it, and there's no chance of recovery, at that speed. If you have a blow-out, a transmission lockout, or hit a road hazard, you're dead. They'll have to scrape up what's left of you with a spatula and a Dixie straw.

I do love cagers who think they're going to race me, though... A twist of the wrist, and they get left in the dust. Simple pleasures. LOL

I've told the story before, but I was in the left-hand lane on a four-lane road, and there was a white car that kept trying to edge up on my right. Ahead of us, the road narrowed to two lanes, so I gave it a little throttle to keep the jerk from passing me and then cutting me off. The speed limit was 30 mph, and where it changed to two lanes, the speed limit increased to 45. He accelerated, still trying pass, so I poured the coals to 'er. This went on for about three "rallies."

Turns out, it was the city police lieutenant in an unmarked car, and by the time he pulled me over, we were doing 55 (probably more like 60) in 30 mph zone. He let me go with a verbal warning.

Sometimes, ya' just get lucky...

I was on a poker run one day, stone sober of course. A fat guy on a crotch rocket thought his bike was oooh so fast. I cranked it up on a long straight and had the speedo pegged at 125 for a while. He pulled beside me and later said he had to go over 130 to pass me.
now don't do it often because I could tell it was revved up.
I have barons big and nasty pipes, big air kit, jet kit, remove asi, torque masters, ported manifold, torque cones in the pipes, no windshield

Downhill, tucked low, no windshield on I 85 in Banks County Georgia

Speedometer pegged at 120, bike still pulling

Compliments of the local Sheriffs Dept I have a radar record of 117 mph!

Thank goodness my cousin was the Deputy Sheriff shooting the radar gun

Oh, my normal top speed is about 75, no desire to go that fast... im too old and it is definately too dangerous. Only did it becasue I had the free radar shot....

I was in Fl. on my 96 royal star going to the race hit 125 before I ran out of road but that was ok with me just a few miles down the road were some cops looking for speeders I guess. (Barons carb kit, barons cones, windshield and BuB pipes what a ride.) The fun part of the ride was going from Va. to Fl. in about 9hrs doing about 110 the whole way. Sometimes I have a need for speed. GMAN

Fast enough I have edged over 100 a couple of times, but most of the time I cruise at about 75. The last time I went faster I was late for a meet up for a ride and was pushing 90-95 most of the way, got into a cager squeeze play with a slow car in front of me and traffic entering from the right made a quick lane change left and the car there slammed on the binders as it was being cut off by the cage in front of it. South Florida drivers are the best..... Later that day my almost new rear tire went flat as the 90 degree valve stem I had installed failed. If you have a 90 degree valve stem with a rubber base get it change now!!! The centrifugal force of the spinning wheel stresses the rubber base and it will fail, probably at the worst time. I have never topped out my scoot, and there is a good chance I never will.

Fast enough to scare me AND the one car I passed like it was standing still. It's out of my system now...I think 50 MPH is my favorite all-around cruising speed, but the 31-tooth pulley makes getting up to speed in a few seconds a real blast...

Man, i'm like cruiserbob. Had mine around 100mph a time or two, but normally on the interstate I cruise out around 75-77mph. I figure thats a safe speed and keeps the cops off of me. I normally wont go over 60mph on the local state roads, and people in the cagers just dont take the extra time to look for bikes! Back roads, I putt along, I will get over and let people pass me on the back roads if they are in that big of a hurry, right. Chances are im just going out to cruise on my CRUISER.
