Re:How fast is your roadstar 2 Years, 3 Months ago
Just the other day I had a clear stretch of highway, no traffic and no access roads, so I turned it up for a short blast. Shifted into 5th at over 140 kmh, and at 163 I let it off. Still pulling very hard and I know I had lots left. Won't be very many times I do that. Like most of us here, I'm happy just cruising at 110-130 kph. And I prefer backroads at 80-90 kph. Just love listening to her purr. Mine is stock air, ais removed, Cobra 2 into 1, so there's lots of room for performance enhancement if I choose. And the 31 tooth pulley does make getting to my cruising speed a lot of fun.

dunno really, as the clock only goes up to 190kph, and the needle passed that.

in real terms, i´d say 110mph.

I hit 210Kph useing gps ..The roady really slows acceleration after 170 kph so you need a long road to hit the high numbers..I also removed the saddle bags but left the windshied on..

If I had wanted a speed demon would have kept the Vmax !
Roadstar rides like a Caddy, Max like a race car.
Like comparing apples and oranges.

120 MPH indicated which is about 115 true. It was still pulling when I let off but it was starting to slow down on the rate of acceleration. BTW, that's about 185 KmPH

Been interesting reading all th posts. Looks like the consensus is, "The power is here to go fast whan needed or wanted but most are content on just crusing along and enjoying the ride" The R* is a cruiser and that's why I bought one. I sold my 82 Yamaha 650 Seca Turbo because it scared the H out of me when I rode it(old need for speed habbit). Ya know "Old school Tunnel vision speed and crappy handeling". I just love to cruise around now but also love the power at my wrist If and when I need or want it. I am over 50 and though I still like to go fast from time to time I am comfortable settiling into the cruiser scene. As have been already said, "It's not how fast you get there, It's all about the journy". I find that any time I get on my bike I am always looking for the long way around. I only wish I started riding long ago.

I love to cruise on my bike but I built my motor to have a big pop when I want to ride hard and I love that too
