h-d fiberglass lower's question 3 Weeks, 3 Days ago
hey ultra-star guy's just installed h-d road king engine guard on my roadstar! been looking on e-bay for fiberglass lowers to buy! so may options & years what should i be looking for? some are just lowers- no clamps ! some are not shaped the same as other models! thanks for help bartish

Your right there are lots of options.
First I would stay with 93 or new lowers from FLHTCU (ultra classic) To the best of my knowledge the Ultra is the only bike that had the lowers.
You need to make sure that the (Caps) are with the lowers. The cap is what covers the upper portion of the crash bar where it attaches. As for the clamps those you could pick up at the hardware store. The most important part is the lowers & caps. The newer ultras have a different shape but there is no difference as far as your crash bar goes. You will end up having to do some trimming to make them fit your R*. I had to make a cut out on the right side to clear my exhaust pipe header. If you have any questions contact me at hardone2get@yahoo.com
