Well, What IS a Darkside tire?

It's a term that means a car tire that is mounted on a motorcycle. Alot of guys on here have mounted a 175/75R16 light truck tire on the back of their Roadies (ONLY the back tire, motorcycle tire on front!) to get much longer life & supposedly better handling & traction. As soon as my new Michelins wear out, I'll be going to the Dark Side as well!

D'oh! I didn't even realize who I was responding to! I must have been ! I thought about it after I sensed a bit of sarcasm in your reply! MS1700 is a vetern Darksider, I've read his posts while I was considering it! I'm sorry, MS1700, for being dumb!

OMG...That's hilarious!

I can just picture Bob typing with such intent, trying to help this poor, helpless, uninformed soul, and educate him as to what the Darkside tire is...ROFLMAO...

Well, Bad BikerBob, I have to admit it was an extremely sarcastic post But I did learn something there by the picture you posted, I had no idea you could run Darkside , dual exhaust AND a trailer hitch all at the same time! So just being funny, posting that and hoping someone would fall into it, I learned something to boot! Thanks for the laugh and thanks for the info! I Like that Dual Exhaust look AND the hitch I never imagines would fit with that wide a Tire in there! But, your entirely responsible for the wad of cash I might spend now that I saw that picture! Schatzie always wants a Trailer along for more of a choice in clothing. Well, on second thought I might just leave her half a saddle bag at that come to think about it!

Have to give it a try on the next back tire I purchase. It's like any thing else in life you have to fine tune it to your liking.

If burnouts is your deal, Then don't go Darkside! It's way too much traction and you'd fry your tranny for sure. It works in loose stone and dirt but on pavement the bike just launches forward, If i had a better clutch I might be able to hold a wheelie.
