Used Apes Needed 2 Years, 3 Months ago
Hey fellow Roadies,

After reading all the threads about the apes I decided it is time to bend my drag bars and step up into the ape word. I'm looking for a used pair of 16" apes, I prefer the Barons however, will consider another brand that is easy to set up. Also, I keep hearing that cliff is the go to man for the +10 connectors but never can seem to see this guy.

So, if anyone is selling the above or know the ABSOLUTE cheapest way to buy these, please let me know. Looking to purchase now.

I lucked out on mine on eBay, but someone here just bought the 16" 1.25" apes from Demon's Cycle and they were very happy with them. I think they were under $100.

And to get in touch with Clifford, just look all the way down at the bottom of these pages...it shows you who's online/ Click on Clifford's name and shoot him a PM. He hooked me up on the +10 Barnett's, and he's great.

Another member had just mentioned to me that at the height of 6'6" with the shirt length of 37" I may want to consider going higher than 16". I'm really set on teh 16" as it appears to be the norm. I basically want to be able to have my arms straight out and not an inch above shoulder level. Looking at everyone else the 16" appears to be the way to go, but I would like to see if everyone agress. Also, I currently have a ultimate seat which puts me lower and forward controls pushed out 15" which is basically unheard of.

Personally, I think 16's will do just fine for ya... but if you see that you need more height, all you would have to do at that point is just buy straight risers that bring them up 2 more inches... problem solved...

Ahhhhh..remedies from the professionals. I have to remove the double fat t bars so I guess I need to spend more money getting risers too. I was told to go with a 2" riser so I'm hoping that the 16" bars and 2" risers do me well. I love pulling up to the new jersey dominate Harley poker runs with a Roadie that looks like their 25k slow bikes.
