With the baffles totally out it's simply crazy and I'm almost affraid to remove the packing and have a too offensive sound. Do you feel that the removed packing gives you a deeper or simply louder sound. I'll deal with the back pressure issues after the fact i guess. The fiberglass Packing has Masking Tape around the baffle holding it in place, Take a razor blade and carefully slice thru the masking tape, and un roll the baffle and remove the packing and steel wool, It will come off in one clean REUSABLE PIECE. Reinstall the Naked Baffle and your tip and start your bike and go for a short ride. If you don't like what you hear, Simply reinstall the fiberglass packing with new masking tape and your back to where you were. Moderator Posts: 2014 Re:Dooley Sounds 2 Years, 3 Months ago   This spring I noticed that my bike had gotten louder since installing my pipes so I figured it was time to re-pack with steelwool/fiberglass. Boy was I right. Right side had COMPLETELY burned away any trace of packing and the left was about half gone. The "note" of the sound hadn't changed, only the volume was different without the packing. I tried to re-pack with OC pink house insulation and that lasted for about 2 weeks. I ordered the re-pack kits from roadhouse and it brought everything almost back to where it had been when I first got them installed. Platinum Boarder Posts: 1260 Re:Dooley Sounds 2 Years, 3 Months ago   I took the packing off my baffles and put the baffles back in. The sound it BETTER than with the packing. It's a little louder, and not obnoxious like running the pipes without baffles. All in all, everyone's got a different ear, and has different preferences. There is no perfect sounding set of pipes, because what's the perfect sound? Everyone's got an answer to that. I'm going to yank everything out Friday and see how it sounds with no packing. The funny part is I'm leading a large ride Sunday and was a little scared to have my bike sounding to crazy.
