nevermind 1 Week, 6 Days ago
i was told by a member on here to use the m1 101 but the hole is too small for the bolt on the bike.

Im about to blow up because of having to go to autozone 2 times, and walmart 2 times for 4 different oil filter wrenches in the middle of an oil change, i had limited wrenches so i had to go buy a whole set to get the correct sizes, i forgot the dipstick on the original trip so oil leaked everywhere and now the filter is wrong. so far, im 3 hours into this oil change....and i might just kill myself.

but at least ill have all the crap i need for the next one and it will take 20 minutes.

Trial and (a lot of) error. Been there more than I care to admit. But like you said, prepared for next time.

TROB Are you asking about an oil filter? I use the Wal-Mart super-tec 7317. they work just fine and cost less .

The stripped bolts in the float bowel? Were they stripped in the head or did you strip the treads out in the carb body? If it is just the screw driver slots in the head then you can use vice grips to bust them loose. OR like some of the guys do use a dramel tool to cut a slot in the in the head for a flat head screw driver or just cut the head off with a cut off wheel and the rest just unscrews with your fingers once the bowel is off. Good luck buddy don't give up your not the first.

No, just the head stripped. The bike hasnt been run for 5 years (not sure if that makes a diff) and the bolts are TIGHT and not budging. I cut some nice slots in the tops and tried with the flat head, but they didn't budge and i could tell they were starting to strip even the new slots. I couldnt find my penetrating oil so i have to buy more tomorrow. I think they will come out with the oil.

If you cut slots on the heads already, then put your screwdriver in the slot and rap the top of the driver with a hammer while turning. This is like a manual impact driver works every time.
