I think rule of thumb is 10" over for 15"-16" apes w/ stock risers. But, I'm sure you'll get a few opinions.

Mine is this:

Do a mock-up. Measure what you'll need. Only takes a few minutes and you won't be subject to the "One inch too short" or "Big, floppy cables". Everybody has their own taste when it comes to cable length.

It's really the only way to get it right the first time. Based on my collection of brake lines and cables, I wish I would have listened to my own advice...

Subject: this road star is to cool!!!
